Sacred Lives Foundation

is a not-for-profit totally volunteer organization
It exists solely on contributions received
No salaries are paid to any individual

Sacred Lives Foundation (an ALL -VOLUNTEER organization) was born out of an awareness
of a need in neonatal intensive care units and pediatric intensive care units to provide hope and comfort for those experiencing a loved one struggling to survive, at times,  against all odds. The mission of the organization is to share personal stories and life experiences with the intent of providing a place of solace and refuge for those who are facing uncertain times. It is our heart's desire these families know they are loved and being lifted up in prayer. And, that every life is sacred regardless of longevity or challenges faced. All materials and publications are presented as gifts to health care organizations and those in need.
"A Blanket And A Lullaby"

One of my favorite scriptures is found in the Old Testament and it says:

The LORD your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.” (Zephaniah 3:17 NKJV)

What tender love is expressed in these words. The heart of a father (a parent) for his children surpasses no other.

He rejoices over you and me with gladness, quiets us with his love, and rejoices over us with singing?

Really?? REALLY!!

What a picture I am able to conjure as I bask in the light of this truth.

And, this is the picture I long for every person to experience and feel in big and small ways. From the struggling, perhaps confused, parent-to-be as well as the unborn, it is my prayer each will experience the gentle, tender love of the one who is a father to the fatherless, light in the darkness, and hope to the hopeless.

To be wrapped securely and warmly in the truth that "you are fearfully and wonderfully made", that you are loved with an everlastIng love and to have a love song sung over YOU through the process is life-giving, and hope rendering.

Hence, my sense of call is expressed with the gift bags of the "fearfully and wonderfully made" fleece baby blanket and Eden's Song gift set distributed to pregnancy centers, maternity homes and to young parents as long as we are able.

A "calling" is inexplicable. But, it reaches to the core of the being of the one who feels it and I know I must do all I feel called to do no matter how "small" or minute I may feel when I ponder the overwhelming  need so many have on multiple levels.

When I see young mothers with their little newborns like Matthew Franklin and Eliza Marie, whom I met just last week on my journey, I know each little gesture matters. I see the preciousness of each life that is deserving of  being wrapped in God's arms as He sings a love song over them. And, I know part of His plan for me is to share this LIFE-GIVING truth. Yes, in big and even small ways, for as long as I have breath.

"Eden's Song"
( play excerpt below)

Dear fellow member of the human race,

"Eden's Song" was written after a dear friend of mine found herself facing an unplanned pregnancy with the father of the baby preferring the abortion option.

My dear friend and loved one considered all options available. After much thought and prayer, she has decided to carry the pregnancy full-term and raise the baby (a little girl named Eden and due in a few short months) on her own. This choice will entail sacrifice and facing the unknown, but this little baby will be loved and provided for. I know of another friend who has a daughter who chose a few weeks ago to place her baby in the hands of a joyful adoptive family. What an act of unselfish love this young mother made for this precious baby. I am certain it came with its own share of heartache as well. Regardless of the type of pregnancy one is faced with, the fact remains there is a "baby" dependent on the choice of the mother if it is to ever enter this world. Unplanned and accidental, planned-for and prayed for, all involve a precious life.

It is my hope that the words of this song will be of value and encouragement to those facing any type of pregnancy. As always, it is "love" that conquers our greatest fears and heartaches. Falling in love with that precious life growing inside of you will never be a source of regret. Love like this is so very pure. Love is a gift that is eternal. Whether your journey involves letting go and moving on or staying the course determined to be the best parent you can be. May your heart be filled with peace and comfort as you travel this road these few months of your life. Your choice will impact a life and a lifetime.

Loving you and praying for you sweet child of God,

Justin Holloway

and valued each life is

There are over 1500 neonatal intensive care units (NICU's) in the United States according to my research. One step at a time, and in His time, it is my hope and prayer, Sacred Lives Foundation will be able to share our gifts of hope, comfort, and encouragement with each of these wonderful organizations.

It all started with a baby. This baby was born in 2008
at 22 1/2 weeks weighing eighteen ounces due to pregnancy complications. This baby was in the neonatal intensive care unit for over four months with life-threatening conditions so severe that his survival did not look promising. Yet this little creation is six years old today and thriving. He calls me Poppy. I call him Brady. He is my miraculous grandson! This life-changing event was my God-breathed inspiration for forming Sacred Lives Foundation with hopes of encouraging families of other little ones spending many months in neonatal intensive care units clinging to life each step of the way. We distribute coffee table size books to hospitals and other places where we feel our message of hope and encouragement will help others. The book is filled with stories of others who have endured the trial. Many eventually leave the hospital with their little ones while others say goodbye to their precious creations who graced their lives for a short while. Regardless, each life is sacred.
